Essential Mathematics and Interactive Applications book cover

Jim Van Verth and Lars Bishop collaborate together in this very useful for game developers, Essential Mathematics for Games and Interactive Applications . Here’s a review from Peter Lipson of Toys for Bob:

“Even though I’ve worked with these systems for years, I found new ways of looking at several topics that make them easier to remember and use. For someone new to 3D programming, it is extremely useful-it gives them a solid background in pretty much every area they need to understand.”

One quick comment: folks are still buying the first edition, but I highly recommend the second. We completely revised it, in particularly bringing the graphics section up-to-date with shader support and creating a cross-platform (Direct3D and OpenGL) engine. We also added a section on random numbers.

And thanks for the mention!
